I am considereing getting Microdermabrasion but am a little nervous. I go to my Derm regularly..and I have asked him and he wasn't much help when I asked
I have very mild acne scars and take perscribed medication as well...but I am thinking of going for a consultation

My QUESTION...what do you think about Dr. brandts Microdermabrasion in a JAR.

here are the benefits.....Designed to exfoliate the skin with magnesium oxide crystals, Microdermabrasion In A Jar immediately improves the appearance and texture of the skin by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. This multi-action treatment also lightens the skin, evens out skin tone, and minimizes the appearance of scars and discoloration. This treatment is also beneficial in treating and clearing acne

ANy advice or suggestions?

theonly person that i know of that uses it is trisha. at least that's what it says in her notepad. i use loreal's microdermabrasion stuff. i don't think it's as heavy duty as the brandt's stuff. i don't know how a heavy duty micro dermabrasion would be on browken out skin. it might irritate the bumps more, which i don't think is good. maybe use it when you have a day that's mostly cleared up.

I use it twice a week and I love the way my skin feels. It is sooo smooth. I bought a facial spa brush from Avon that I use with it. It feels really good. I have used it when my face was broke out and it seemed to help rather than iritate it. I will be getting more when I run out. Go the the review center and see if anyone else has reviewed it.

I use it & found that my skin is a lot smoother & clears up nicely if I get a blemish. While I don't have any pitted scars, the discolored ones tend to fade faster now that I've been using it for 6 months.

Check out this set if you want to try it out w/out dropping a ton of $$$. I use the Pore Effect moisturizer nightly & the Microderm 2x/week & my facialist is telling me to keep up whatever it is that I'm doing b/c my skin's been quite clear.

I don't know a lot about dermabrasion (it's the same name in french!
) but my mother would like to know about it!!!

From what age it could be used? Am I too young? Because It's not very good for skin to use too much products when you're young, because your skin makes no effort to be in good health (product do it for your skin), and so at 50 years old, you need much more products than a woman who used a little bit of creams and skin cares.

I 25 and here we dont use creams against ripples from 30 years old, not before.

So is the dermabrasion is good at 25 years old?

Thanks for the info

Well, I did read the reviews before posting but i wanted to know more about dermabrasion more in general too!!

I was thinking about going to get it done by a pro but that's mre money and

I thoght that an at home dermabrasion would be better- more mild!

I was also thinking baout getting the neutrogena micro-dermabrasion kit- i have heard nothing but wonderful things about this

Naturally, I checked out your site and it's real interesting!! I may order from you... But my question is (like Marie-Line) am i too young? I'm 24

Even if you never smoked or partied, @ some point, you've probably spent time in the sun & microderm can help w/any possible sun damage.
It couldn't hurt to get microderm professionally first, then try it @ home to maintain. Since you're still young, I don't think you need to go to a professional yet. If you want to go to a pro, do the facial-thing first & impliment home microderm. This way, you get the best of both worlds.

I’m 21 and I’ve been using Epidermx (the microdermabrasion that Kim sells) for almost 2 weeks now. I use it twice a week & I love it. My skin is so soft and smooth after it & I agree with what Karen said about your make up looking so much better. My sister has some acne scars and she’s gonna start using this now too so I’ll let ye know how it works on her skin aswell. So far so good, I’d definitely buy it again

I was worried that I may be too young... her is my routine...let me know if dermabrasion may be too much

I use St. Ives abricot wash

a benzoyl peroxide wash

benzoyl peroxide repairing lotion

I use a 4% hydroquinone for dark spots

I find that after i wash my face sometimes thereis a film from the benzoyl wash. I use the St Ives abricot scrub from time to time. Should I intro Dermabrasion?

OMG!! I think i NEED to try Kim's Epidermx !!! SHould I just email you or something..... I really would love to get my hands on this product!

Hi again, Femme*Noir thought I'd pop in again....Definitely try Kim's Epidermx, go to her link & click on it, you can read about it and order it from her there. I just read that Laura's using it too...good girl....isn't it terrific, I love it!...You're never to young to start taking care of your skin...better now than later ....

I have had a series of microdermabrasion treatments and have also used the Neutrogena microdermabrasion (see my review). I love it. I decided that I could get nearly the same effect for much less at home. It is a little messier to do it on yourself, but I appreciate saving the money. IMO it takes you two or three sessions with the home version before your skin looks comparable to the salon/spa version. After that if you keep it up, it is very comparable. Hey, and the home version doesn't feel like a cat licking your face like microdermabrasion does. Good luck.

I have only tried two brands, Mary Kay and Neutrogena. They were both free samples. I really liked the Neutrogena one, the MK one was "ok". I next want to try L'oreal or the one by Susan Lucci, with the battery-operated exfoliating sponge tool thingy. The Dr. Brandt product sounds fab but it's too $pendy for me!

If scrubs and masks aren't doing the job, I think microderm. is the next step, but you gotta be careful with any exsisting zits. Also be careful if you use any chemical exfoliants; retinols, AHA's, salicylic acid, peels, etc. If you go overboard you could traumatize your skin. You are smart to be cautious before trying something new! Good luck and by all means post a review of whatever you decide to try!
