I saw a neurologist for a nerve conduction test prior to my surgery. Last year my compression was severe. I already had surgery for this problem and it came back. Not the surgeons fault, I sustained some injuries to the area not long after surgery. This time the NC test showed mild-medium compression but my problem has been ongoing for 6 months or more. Physio etc wasn't helping the problem.
It takes forever to see specialists. My family doctor didn't want to refer me to a surgeon ,told me to live with my problem. I headed to another doctor, same thing. As soon as I mentioned about flying out to Toronto because it only takes 7 months to see a hand surgeon, they moved quickly and decided to refer me to someone where I live.
Thanks everyone!
NOt to Hijack your thread hahaha
I was born with an extra rib (c7). It has caused several problems. I have alot of crowding at the base of my neck and so i have nerve compression also ( thoracic outlet syndrom i think) So i get pain, numbness and the usual nerve issues in my left arm. Its also caused a different rib to stck out....thats sorta painful. And Im also attepmting to have a breast reduction, which will relieve pain of the other problem. And I found out the rib sticking out is the reason for chest pains i have been having since I was 17 ish. I suppose my wait time isnt nearly as bad as it could be.
