I was watching this show NEXT on MTV and this guy Nexted about 3 chicks because they had fake nails. What are your thoughts on that?

It depends because some girls have really long and ugly nails with all types of crazy designs thats just looks tacky.

I think it depends on how long and tacky the nails are. Some fakes look good and some look just awful. I'm sure it depends on the guy too.

I think they only look tacky when they haven't been cut from the length they start at. I think they can look tasteful and natural, or trashy and porno-ish. I guess it depends what these girls had.

Either way, next someone because they have fake nails? hello, they are removable, haha

Love that show - although it is pretty stupid. I think fake nails are very nice - as long as they're kept short and tasteful. I'll admit it, back in the day I had the talons with the crazy airbrush designs, but I think that's definitely "out" now. I've actually been meaning to get them done lately - think I'm going Sat. I like them short, square-tipped, with a classic French mani.

I'm not really a fan of fake nails, especially the ones that look like multicolored talons. It's interesting though, I've had so many people ask me if my nails are fake, because they're very strong and grow like weeds. I also think using fake nails is a vicious cycle. You apply them once, then when you take them off, the real nail is all crusty and discolored, and they look so bad that you have to reapply the fake nails, and so the real nails never really have a chance to show their stuff. I think fake nails should only be used in situations where the real nail truly will not grow or is too fragile.
