Problem with Stila eyeliner--please advise

Hi All,

I got a Stila Sparkle liquid eyeliner in my Birchbox a few months ago.  I've been using it about once a week with no problems at all.

So a couple of days ago, I took it out, and the texture had changed--it was very runny and the color was a little different.  I shook it for a while, and the texture/color got closer to normal, but not quite 100%.  I sniffed it, and it didn't smell weird, but I never sniffed it before, so I don't know what it should smell like. 

Is this separation normal?  Should I just shake it a little longer and continue using it?  Or is this a sign that it has gone bad? Has this happened with anyone else's sample?

Your liner may have had a chemical reaction with another cosmetic in came in contact with on your eyes. Usually if mine gets weird I wipe it off and it solves the problem because it removes whatever was there. If you are uncomfortable using it, toss it.
