I personally suffered from horrendous, painful cystic acne in my senior year of high school. I must have spent hours searching the internet for remedies, everything from household honey to cortisone shots. I had probably tried everything to try to get rid of it, although I later learned it was due to internal/hormonal issues. I still did everything I could to prevent it or get it under control though.
I recommend aloe vera gel as a face mask or makeup primer, and Grandpa's Pine Tar soap, which you can find at most health food stores. For the longest time I relied on products with salicyclic aicd and benzoyl peroxide, but with my sensitive skin I could only really use them as spot treatments. When I started using natural products, my skin was much more calm and even, whereas drugstore products dried out my skin and ravaged it.
What are some ways you guys have controlled it?
