Self Makeup Techniques... Help!

Hi guys! I am at Dallas and I am looking for a self makeup workshop/class where I can learn a few techniques on how to apply makeup correctly. I am not at the fashion field, but would love to know some techniques on how to apply makeup on myself on daily basis (for work, school, etc). It is nothing professional, really. Would anyone know where I could find these workshops/classes? All I can find is professional classes, costing around $1600, which would be way beyond what I am looking for.

Note: I have not attended these schools nor am I promoting them. These are two that I found in the Dallas Texas area via Makeup Artists Magazine website.

The workshops are $299 and appear to be one day classes.

There is also a two day class called the Beauty Allure for $999.

Their classes are $1,500 but it looks to be a two week course.
