For this particular look my inspiration was an eggplant (crazy i know lol) but the next time I wear that lipstick I already know exactly which gloss I'm gonna wear over it. Thanks for the advice!

Hezzie, I see what dreamwarrior is saying but I think ANYONE can make any color work for them... I think it would look HOT if you contoured with a lipliner and added some gloss... and maybe did a frosty white eye and thick eyeliner to go with it! =]
