Popsugar Must Have August 2016 Box Spoilers

Recommended Posts

Hoping mine just shows up then! It still says processing. I received a tracking number for the mini, but not the regular box. I ordered the mini this month, but was already a subscriber for the regular box. Makes no sense!

Okay, so I canceled, but I thought I'd gotten a 3 month sub apparently I got 6 when I prepaid way back when.

This box isn't "technically" as bad as the others, because it has at least one item.

SPOILERS BELOW:

The pen charger.  Though it's rather overpriced as it's more expensive than my four-times-longer-lasting Amazon basics battery with dual ports.  That said, my bag looks like hairy hoohas in beige and black (hey, I may be projecting a bit - perhaps it was last month's nipple pins...), the popcorn bag is stale (plus after opening it, it's actually only about 20% full when I looked inside) and I really don't need a Parisian post-it note holder.  Screen cleaner is a bit of a bust, those things never work - or at least last very long,

So, all in all, not icky like the last two, but not box value IMO.

I got the rusty brown bag. . probably the very last one I'd want.  Throwing it in the gift pile.

Polished off the popcorn in a day . . .sugary and good!  I see they sell it at Wal-Mart, so it's a good thing I don't shop there very often.

Happy with the charger (can never have too many portable chargers when traveling), beautiful sticky notes (the packet will fit in my planner), and Cargo blush.    On my second day of wearing the blush and it's really pretty. . .it leaves the prettiest flush with a hint of shimmer and is build able.  It also wears well.

You must have gotten the cloud bag! Wasn't a fan at all! Hoping for the black daisy. That print is pretty!

I got my box!

post-93138-0-77196400-1472230542_thumb.jpg

I love my bag! I had a feeling I was going to get a black bag. I really like the print, but any of them would have been fine for me. I think this is the same print Liz posted on MSA.

Most of the box is a win for me, the blush is huge, the popcorn is huge too, popcorn isn't my favorite snack since it tends to be pretty cheap and it always sticks to my teeth, but this looks yummy. I told myself I needed to eat my salad for lunch, before I dive into this bag though. The post-it notes are super fancy but I'll use them at work since that's where I make my grocery store lists. ha! I have a halo charger from the QVC box, but my initial charger died within a year so I had them replace it (it was under warranty), it doesn't hurt to have a back up charger since my boyfriend frequently runs his battery down too when we run around on the weekends.

The only thing I think is meh is the screen wipes but I'll throw them in my swap pile.

My box finally arrived today. I just got a boring all-black bag. In a way it's good because I can use it for any occasion, but I can't help but wish I'd gotten one of the more colorful, whimsical patterns.

All in all, I really like this box though!

Same here - plain black but that works for me.

Just got my box, have not had too much time to look at it as I got it at work but the baggu I received was night mountain and my co-worker got the same one. I don't mind it, I think. I was happy not to get brown or leopard.

I got my box yesterday and love it. I got a navy striped bag, which for me is perfect, so I'm very happy. I actually used the mini charger to charge my phone and it worked well. Fits in my purse so easy to bring along with me. I loved the popcorn, as did my husband! The blush is a very subtle color so I really like that as well. I am much happier with this months box and glad to see an improvement, the last two were misses for me.

Was any one else excited by the spoilers and then totally underwhelmed when the box was in hand?  I got a boring black bag-- one of the reasons I love pop sugar is because they introduce me to to fun pattern and colors I might not get myself.  Its a lovely bag but a bit blah compared to some of the other lovely patterns sent out oh well it will be used its practical but not very exciting or "must have" for me. The charger was a bit of a let down for me too-- it drives me crazy when you have to use the phone's charger cord (mine is huge) if i m going to lug that around why not just use that to charge it.  I dunno I would have liked if the little plug fit my phone-- does it fit anyone's phone or is it not meant to?  Oh well I think I m getting a little burnt out on this box I don't know if it just because I ve been getting them for awhile or what but they don't seem as fun and exciting as they used too.  Ok enough being a bummer, hope you ladies enjoy your boxes and have a lovely day :)

FYI, I was charging the pen battery on my laptop when it gave out a surge warning to the USB port and shut it down after about... 30 minutes or so charging it up.

I suggest as a precaution, making sure if you charge from your computer, that you have the newer USB ports that detect the surge and will shut it down like mine did.  It could be a fluke, could be something that damaged it in shipping but it definitely won't be going into my wall.

I'm charging my phone on it now (my phone has the warranty protection on surges for charging, since I live in Florida and lightning likes my house) and no issues, but something to watch out for.  It's getting a tad warm charging my phone - which it really shouldn't be doing so take caution if you intend to use this in a purse or bag and want to charge with your phone/tablet in hand.  Make sure you take it out to cool it every so often.

ETA: After running through a full charge, it gave me about 40% battery, which seems rather underpowered for the size, but will certainly get you some extra life for not a lot of effort!

    • cool, thanks for the tips!  I like all of k-beauty products I've tried so far but I haven't tried any foundations yet. The best foundation I've found is FitMe and it's super cheap but I want to change brands.  FitMe is a matte finish.
    • I mostly prefer k-beauty products. I use Missha foundation, I have been using this from last 3 years. It has different shades we can choose according to our skintone. And also I have suggested this to my friends and cousins, they all are every satisfied with this products. I always prefer to shop from Althea beauty store for all k-beauty products, because it provides best discounts on products.
    • I have been backsliding, but backsliding in a better way than before. The money has felt tighter than normal lately. I decided not to be too hard on myself, because part of that was from losing my second job due to COVID. Also I joined a new church, and really want to keep up with the tithing. That has become important to me. I found I need to tighten the budget and cut back on too much takeout/delivery [Door Dash is my vice]. That's hard for me. I was not budgeting well, and I found myself the week before Father's Day with not enough money for gifts and food that week, so I opened a new credit card. I used that to buy gifts and food, then some more food and takeout. I feel really badly about that.  BUT my old self would have just kept the card, and gone shopping for beauty items with it too, and I would have given up on my No Buy/Project Use It Up. NOW I caught myself after about two weeks of this backsliding, cut up the card, took the card number out of the computer. Because if it's there, it's too much temptation. And I kept right on using my old beauty stuff, I was not even tempted to buy new beauty stuff, just food!  Now I will wait for the bill for the new credit card to come in the mail and work on paying it off. The fact that I am rebounding like this instead of going back to my old behavior is a really good sign! I do need to work on the eating out. Getting Nutrisystem was not such a good idea. The dry food is hard to eat and it is pretty expensive too. But I will keep trying to change my food habits. Until now, I have not really had to do that to achieve my goals. We're moving into the higher goals now.
    • Men with gray hair are often flattered for their distinguished looks. Timothy Olyphant, John Slattery and other stars demonstrate the attractive face of gray hair. We hope they help you discover the cut that will best suit your gray hair. Take a look at these three guys in the photo above. The photo on the right shows Adam Lambert (born 1982), who is the youngest of the three. He probably doesn't want to praise senior citizens, but instead prefers to wear his voluminous gray hair to stand out from the crowd. Some young stars like Adam Lambert and Kelly Osbourne love to wear gray hair and enjoy playing with cliches. Of course, such characteristic appearances draw the attention of young Hollywood-obsessed youth. The white hair mixed with natural colors in the heads of young stars attracts more sure looks that lilacs, pinks or greens and go unnoticed. In the photo Timothy Olyphant (born 1968) appears in the center, as does his hairstyle. His “salt and pepper” hair near his temples and on his beard makes him look naturally distinguished and adds the appeal of the hair growth products for african american hair mature man who knows who he is and what he wants. Why change something that works so well? This can also be applied to John Slattery (born 1962), on the left of the photo. Almost all of John Slattery's hair lacks pigment and is therefore close to the transition from silver to white. His modern hairstyle and carefree demeanor show a person who knows how to step forward without getting nervous. No wonder it arouses as much admiration as desire.  Best hairstyles for men with gray hair Whatever the way that stars and celebrities wear or (pretend to) assume their gray hair, since they discover their first gray hair, most men (or women) have only one emotional response: “Oh no! Get rid of them! ” After the first shock of noticing that time passes while we don't realize it, most men at least cut their hair or shave off their beard that is starting to turn gray. This reaction is very constructive. In the photo, Matt Damon demonstrates how interesting haircuts are for men with gray hair. This is also the most popular hairstyle of all time for men with gray hair. George Clooney teaches us how to wear gray hair with style and class.     It can take a while for people to get used to the idea of having gray hair. It is best to have a strategy when the first isolated gray hairs cannot be hidden or plucked for much longer. Why not let gray hair mix freely with the rest of your mane? Adam Lambert, Timothy Olyphant and John Slattery (see photo above) demonstrate how to do it with class. Jeff Bridges, with his shoulder length gray hair and thick beard, is the image of a nature lover, like his younger colleagues, Charlie Hunnam and Jake Gyllenhaal. https://folexin.info/ https://skincellpro11.weebly.com/
