You need to moistruize your face very well. As I have a combo skin I use a light serum under my thick sunscreen, which I apply with the drop of dimethicone to make it absorb better. It's really good method for winter months as the dimethicone locks the moisture in my skin. After the suncreen I apply a primer - as a primer I use smashbox photofinish with dermaxyl. I also use powder primer over gel primer to control oilies, but if you have dry skin you can skip that and apply a bit of mineral veil under your foundation.
As to applying I've learnt that wet method is working best for me. I spritz the kabuki with thermal water to make it damp and than i swirl it with the foundation - I tap the exces and gently apply it on the skin. I do not buff, while this do not work for me. As I finish applying foundation I spritz my face with thermal water and wait until it dries. I apply one dry coat foundation over it.
This method makes my face look flawless, but this method only works when you use a foundation which is your color match in other way it will just look strange. Futhermore EDM is not working for me at all and maybe sometimes it's worth to try other brands, which may work for you just fine.
I moisturize 2x daily so I know it isn't a dry skin thing. I also use photo finish primer so it's not the dry skin that's the problem.
Maybe I will try applying it wet this time and see how it goes. Thanks!

Also, it takes a little while for the powders to mix with the oils in your skin and 'melt in'. Therefore, never judge a color until you have had it on for a while. Also, the drier your skin is, the more powdery it will look. Hydrate and moisturize your skin well. Many of the ingredients in MMU are quite drying. Hopefully others with more experience will come along. BTW, what type of finish are you trying in EDM? The colour seems perfect though. It's just that it like...'rests' on my skin. (This was also after a whole day of wearing it that I came to this conclusion).
I also moisturize 2x daily, use smashbox photo finish as a primer and everything. I defintely don't have dry skin.
I am trying the original glow finish since i don't like matte makeup.
