I had the pleasure of spending a couple of days Tokyo for work once and was just astounded at the hair and makeup fashions I saw. I think the women there were much bolder in their choices then your typical American or European. I guess when the vast majority of you have the same hair, and very similar features, you go the extra mile to stand out.
