UPDATE!
So a huge update, I think I found the answers to our oily skin prayers!
1. I found my Clinque oil control foundation which glides on like a charm, still get oily throughout the day but it's bearable.
2. I would blessed with samples from LA Minerals, thank you so so much! What came: a small kabuki brush, foundations, dusk concealer, oil control mattifying powder, Lush nude colored blush.
Reviews:
Kabuki brush is awesome, doesn't shed and gets a nice even blend into the skin.
Foundations: These are part of the Valley Girl collection. The colors it came with were medium beige, medium neutral and med/dark neutral.
- The color that I use most is the Medium neutral since I am fairly tan.
- I enjoyed this foundation a ton! I wore it to work one day
(this is where I usually produce the most oil) and I only blotted my face once during the entire 8 hrs and even then my face didn't really need it, it had a natural glow to it but I was looking for a matte look. My makeup was still on when I was done with my shift which has never happened before. I really like this foundation because it seems as though it blends with the skin when it produces oil rather than wiping off when it produces oil.
- I will note that I stopped using my primer because I realized it was very oil based, I was using the Palladio herbal primer.
- I'm still super new to using mineral powders, this was actually m first time so what I did for full coverage was put a thin layer of my Clinque oil free foundation and then a thin layer of the mineral foundation... not sure if you can do that but it worked for me. If I only use the powder then you can still see pores.
- Today I only used the powders for a natural less covered look!
Concealer: I cannot express how much I love this! I put this on after my liquid foundation but before the powder (again not sure if you're supposed to!).
-
Funny story which you can skip: I first got the concealer in the mail and in my excitement I dropped it, all of it. To keep this short the small amount I was able to use amazed me I put it over a small but really red zip and it just looked like normal skin! That same night I was so upset my gracious boyfriend went online and bought me the full size, I don't know which I'm more in love with ;D
- Personally I think this was the best product I got! I've had cheap liquid concealer and the only thing it is good for is highlighting that usually last for 30 mins or to take a picture.
Oil Control Mattifying Powder: Since I haven't been too oily I'e only used this once and actually liked it. I used this at work after blotting with papers and for the rest of the day I didn't have to touch my makeup. I had a nice matte look but don't add too much of else you'll be a different color. I'm still getting used to how much powder to use, again my first time!
Lush Nude Blush: I have not tried this just yet only because I usually like to add some color to my face for a nice soft look. Hopefully I find a look where I can use this. Any tips on how would be great.
- I assume this product is just like the foundations and will probably go on great!
Again I'm still new to working with powders. I still use the liquid foundation because with the powders I go get some dry spots on my cheeks which the liquid foundation helps a lot with. I'm assuming if you're super oily with no dry spots then full powder may work. Also all of the powders feel light and not super heavy much like my MAC powder that I have.
