Rouge was such a great idea, and I was so excited to join! I was especially excited for the supposed "invitation to special events" part - since I live in the city where Sephora is headquartered I expected some events for sure....but nope. Also expected the promised "surprises"... also nope. In fact, exactly nothing has happened in the months I've been a VIB Rouge except the welcome kit and the free shipping. I'm getting the impression that's all it's going to be for most of us, which is disappointing based on what we were promised. Here's hoping we hear something more during the upcoming holidays!

I live in the nyc metro area and have not been invited to a single even .. nor have I got a single extra sample ... they ran out of the welcome  kit when I needed one.I don't  know how they can get away with what they advertise its totally false... still hoping for something to happen.. Its been 6  months with nothing

I live near DC, and I was hoping to be invited to an event. Nothing. Never even get an extra sample, despite the fact that I've spent nearly $3,000 this year.

I live in NYC and I've been invited to a Rise and Rouge this fall.  I do 95% of my shopping online (due to a multi-level disk issues, I can't bear weight beyond 3 pounds).  Maybe the marketing psychology is related to that?

I've gottena a free sample here and there (about 20% of the time, 1 free)  but I've also have had them give me just 1 sample and no substitutes.

I think the VIB-R program grew faster then they anticipated.

I think I've been invited to two Rouge events. I wanted to go to the Marc Jacobs meet and greet, but spaces filled up in about 5 minutes. The Rise and Rouge was somewhere midtown and it wasn't worth the trek to me. Still, if that's all they've got where extra perks are concerned (excluding makeovers and free shipping), for $1K in a calendar year, Rouge is pretty pathetic.

I believe they're having to take a step back and rethink their program.  I know a store manager and she told me that when the program first started, they initially had right around 3,000 VIBR members.  Which is a very small number when you think about how many people actually shop at Sephora.   She is giving feedback to them to let them know of all the complaints.

I for one am fed up with it.  In my eyes this is false marketing.  Free shipping?  Big whoop when you can get Flash shipping.   Special surprises?  Nope, notta.  Special VIB events?  Few and far between and quite honestly, not much out of Sephora's pocket.

They're not scratching my back so I'm not scratching theirs.

I completely agree. I am sorry but you can not tell me that when they were looking at adding this program that they did not "pull" numbers to see how many would be close to making Rouge once the program rolled out. If they didn't do that then wow...not a very good company in my eyes. And now we were promised exciting stuff and really haven't gotten anything. Agree that oh boy free shipping. I got a Flash invite right before I was going to make rouge and thought it was pointless to pay ($25 at that time) since I was so close to Rouge. So to give your highest paying peeps free shipping and that's it is pretty sad.

I'm going to try to hit VIB by the end of the year...I don't think I'll ever make it to VIBR though.  I really don't even think I'll ever go through that much product in a year unless I hit the lotto and can play around all I want.  However after reading this board it doesn't even seem like VIBR is anything to get excited about.

Hey guys, just got my first order as a VIBR so I thought I'd post here about it. I bought the sephora fringe benefits lashes (I think it was $8?) and the 500pt dior addict set. I added 3 samples to my order and they sent me:

  • a tester vial of gucci guilty
  • a tester vial of clean white woods
  • 2 of the tarte maracuja c-brightener samples
  • a folded up pamphlet things with those lift and sniff samples of gucci guilty black, dior j'adore, bvlgari omnia crystalline, and tom ford black orchid
  • a tester vial of especially escada

I only asked for the gucci guilty, tarte maracuja c-brightener, and clean white woods, so I don't know if the other two are for being VIBR or because the holidays are approaching or what (I'm guessing the especially escada was a VIBR extra sample and the pamphlet of lift and sniffs is holiday promotional material). Either way, more samples than I asked for so I'm happy :D

The dior addict set is very nice, everything came in one of those carboard boxes with the attached tops that jewelry comes in but despite being cardboard it looks elegant. Everything inside was nicely wrapped, the necklace is definitely cheap (and I'm not sure why they called it a bracelet) but it's still cute and the lipstick is teensy but the packaging looks just like the full size, which is nice. I can't get the perfume open--I'm afraid if I pull too hard it will spill everywhere--but it looks really pretty, too, it has a pink gradient to it and a nice silver cap. I haven't used the lashes yet but I'm super excited to. :)

I placed the order Sunday night and it shipped Monday afternoon, so for free shipping and living in Chicago (where it seems like my mail gets to the city and then does a lap before actually getting here) getting here on a Wednesday morning is pretty nice. The samples were nice, too. I'm hoping they pick up on their other promises soon but seeing as I just hit VIBR recently I'm pretty content so far!

I still don't have my VIBR welcome kit though! Wish they had sent one. My mom got me excited as I was typing this because her house is set as my default address (I'm in a dorm so I only send stuff here when I know I'll be able to pick it up) and she sent me a text saying they sent my VIBR welcome kit to her house, but I asked her to open it and she said it turned out to be an overpackaged ad. Guess I'll have to stop by a store sometime soon. :(

I got an extra sample in my order yesterday after months of nada! It was a Guerlain perfume sample, and I was way more excited than I should've been. That more or less sums up how I feel about Rouge. I try to find happiness where I can.

I just started shopping sephora in October and I'm close to hitting VIB-R, but it sounds like it's not really worth it. Too bad =( I'm not crazy about spending that much $$$ but I've been using mac for years and needed a whole new look.

Got my latest order in today, the Nars cream blush/enchanted.  OMG, omg.... they need to rename that blush Vegas show-girl or porn star, lol. SOOOOOOO much glitter, chunky glitter!  I had a fun time laughing at myself after trying it on today though.  After two days being bummed out, it was a nice break in moods.  But alas, it will be returned tomorrow.  Would have been much better with shimmer instead of glitter, and half the amount they put in.

I got my chosen samples and the perfume flap brochure already mentioned.

In case it shows up in the free samples again... the Kate Somerville CC cream foil-- it runs dark (true medium tone), so if you're light/fair, don't waste a sample on it.

I miss my free extra sample :(  I used to get them up until about a month/ month 1/2 ago.    Maybe they're picking a handful of customers at a time to give extra samples to, and rotating it?

I don't know whether this was intentional, but I placed an order a few weeks ago and chose the Stila color balm as a point perk, and in my package there were two of them. If that was intentional, it was nice of them, although in that case it would be a little odd for them to just send duplicates of things (which is why I thought it was accidental). Just an odd choice- I'm not complaining. I'll certainly take something over nothing.

I had something similiar like that happen to me.  My box came with everything I ordered, but there was also a full size D&G mascara in there.  I dont know if it was a mistake, or if it's supposed to be one of those "special surprises"  I have no idea because there was no letter or any explanation.  Everyone I've heard that got a special surprise, also had a note attached with it.

I ordered the cream blush from NARS and it came today and I found almost no glitter in mine, which is weird because all I've seen about it has been about the huge chunky glitter in it  It's super sheer. I like the consistency, though, it's super creamy and glides on easily.

No extras in my package today. One of my perfume samples has a very obviously dirty cap which grossed me out. The Benefit It's Potent! sample is really cute, it looks like the actual product but in a xela pack. I know I'm a bit late with this but I love Dolce & Gabbana's Desire. It smells soooo nice

So another thing I find crazy is that today my friend who is regular VIB pulled out a coupon that she had gotten in the mail for $20 off at Sephora. My other friend and I both became instantly annoyed - we are both Rouge, and we haven't even received the same normal VIB coupon that she got. I could be idealistic and say that's because something better is coming...but the way things have been with Rouge, I am not getting my hopes up.

I saw someone mention that (not that only some people had gotten it, but that there was a $20 off GC being sent out) but I never got one   I was hoping I was just getting mine late but sounds like it was only sent to select people, but why not VIBR? What happened to "we save the best for the best"?

Also, I FINALLY got my welcome kit today, after 3 trips to sephora to get it and being turned away each time. Not only that, but the sales associates were super rude and standoffish to me... I'm guessing because I wasn't wearing makeup  I just washed my brushes, they're still drying, and it's a sunday, give a girl a break.

Maybe I'm being too entitled but idk, I'm pretty disappointed with Sephora recently. Maybe if the VIBR program wasn't so hyped up I wouldn't feel so cheated.

ALL BI's, VIB's and VIBR's are getting these - they're valid from 12/4-12/16 I believe - so at the very least you should get it via email - if not, you can go into the store and they CAN look it up for you.

BI's are getting $15 off $50 and VIB's and VIBR's are getting $20 off $50

Well…  The discount doesn't start until Wednesday.  These are usually sent via bulk mail, which usually means that they're sent out in batches (in my experience, some places send out in alphabetical order, some send in zip code order, some in no identifiable order) over a series of days.  There was a holiday *and* a weekend.  They started showing up in mailboxes Tuesday or Wednesday, if I recall correctly, but, again, Thanksgiving backs everything up.  I wouldn't get too upset about not getting that card yet.  Hell, I haven't gotten mine yet, and I'm simply chalking it up to slow mail right now.

Ooh I didn't realize it hadn't started yet. The comment I saw it mentioned in was talking about using it on black friday so I was under the impression that it was already happening. Sorry for jumping to conclusions, I'll wait and see if it shows up.

I'm a VIB who's $130 away from VIBR and I almost don't want it. After hearing the horror stories of people getting banned for order size. I can't believe the $20 0ff $50 is the same for both levels! What gives Sephora?? No real perks for VIBR just disappointment =(

you can actually use it now.  I used it on saturday :)

that said, who knows?  Maybe I will get banned for that - hahahaha

BTW - I wanted flash and I asked for it, and they wouldn't give it to me. Not everyone can get flash - I really tried to get on that program
