I signed the Make Out 2013 contract, so I'm in for the long haul. I think I want to get that UD Glinda palette as one of my items, but I want to swatch it again and think about it some more.

This is good. Impulse spending/LE collections have always gotten me in the past. If I just think about what I really need and if I would use something, I think I'll do ok.

Today at lunch, my husband asked me if I wanted to head into Bath and Body Works since it was next door. I said no! I think he was a little surprised. I did want to go in, but I knew that even just looking would greatly increase my chances of wanting to buy something.

Well done ladygrey. I've used up three products this week, gave my daughter an extra face powder because hers was empty, listed four unopened products on eBay, and did not buy anything. Hoping I can keep the momentum going.

I almost bought some nail polish but I didnt, then I came home and my mom had bought me some since they were on sale :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

That's great, good job! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I think my highlight for February so far has been when I almost gave in and bought Guerlain's Turandot eye shadow palette and Lou Ling lipstick on sale (-50%). Luckily I managed to control myself until I got home, played around with my stash and discovered I have dupes for two of the eyeshadow shades and can get pretty close to the lipstick by mixing two lipsticks I already have. Disaster averted!

How's everyone else doing so far?

I ended up caving in a couple of days ago and getting 2 nyc applelicious balms. i had a $1 off $3 at CVS + BOGO 50%...so I got two for 3.77

i still feel guilty though :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I've never tried any subscription boxes, I guess that's a good thing.

I got an email this morning. My favorite brand is having a 20% off friends and family sale. I put items in my cart but I left the site. There was one thing that I really wanted and is an exception on my makeout list but realized that I could buy a drugstore version of it for a fraction of the price when my current product runs out.

Umm, my low buy just when out the window.  OTOH, I won quite a bit of money Sunday night at the casino, so I've got some mad money.  So, I don't feel guilty

.

Between my ui getting cut off in January and not getting my first paycheck until March, I am forced to low buy. I really hated cancelling my subs and I miss shopping at Sephora. After I pay my rent in March, I'm going to do a major lipstick haul at MAC and a major perfume, Nars and mufe haul at Sephora.

I'm going to be a good girl and pass up that $25 for $50 Julep gift card they're offering on their site since I already picked up the $20 for $50 Bloomspot one.

Thinking about it carefully, I think I'll treat myself to a MAC red lipstick for v'day tomorrow! I don't feel bad -- I'm still trying to find my HG and I don't have enough lipsticks (though I should probably branch out of red at some point).

What are some of everyone's no buy/low buy goals, in terms what you'd do with the money you're not using to buy makeup? I'm saving for a trip to China to see my grandparents (probably need to save $2500-3000 for tickets + all the shopping I'm destined to do there lol), a new wardrobe because my college-chic is starting to be embarrassing ($2000 for new shoes and clothes. Yeah, I'm going to be able to buy like maybe 3 pairs of shoes and 10 articles of clothing with that I know, SIGH), and a camera lens for my DLSR (probably $300 if I get the one I want). I mean, my makeup habits are only about $100-150 a month, so the only thing it's going to help is that lens probably ^^;

My goal is kind of similar, i'm trying to spend less on makeup so that i can actually treat myself to better clothes. i've been wearing the same items for awhile now :-( and I need to pay attention to my wardrobe instead of my beauty products! so as long as i keep my no buy/very low buy i'll treat myself to a clothing order from yesstyle every 3 months (have to spend $150 for free shipping so i try to spread out my orders.)

You probably know of these already, but have you considered daily flash sale sites like ideeli, Hautelook, Gilt, and Beyondtherack, which frequently sell designer/high-end/quality clothes for a discount? Ideeli even has $10 shipping for any purchases you make over a 30-day period, which is perfect for a wardrobe revamp plan like this.

I'm probably going to spend about $1000 of that budget (when I organize it since I'm still moving money around and figuring out my overall budget) on online daily flash sale sites, and then $1000 in stores like at Zara... probably mostly Zara, though maybe a little Banana Republic and J Crew. And a few pairs of shoes. *_* Comfortable and chic things probably in the $100-250 range for a pair. So... three pairs of shoes lol.

yeah i look at those daily but rarely buy. the quality of things i get from yesstyle is great and things cost about $10 each on average. and they're really unique since i get mostly korean clothes! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> thanks for the tip though!

I have several goals. One of them is also to buy a better wardrobe. I get bored easily and I like to change things up. I've checked out Hautelook but I think I'll stick to Kohls lol. Another one of my goals is to spend a week in Hawaii this summer. I need around $2500 for my trip. I'm not sure if I can reach it though, since I'm still in grad school and my job doesn't pay much :/

i havent really told anyone this (mainly my husband) but i put myself on a no buy for february just to see if i could do it. half way through the month and so far so good. i will say that this is making me look at my makeup collection a lot differently now, i feel like im being more creative with it!

good luck to everyone else! you can do it!

Oh man guys... I'm getting a nearly $400 dollar credit on my card because Lady Gaga canceled her tour. This is going to be so dangerous. Help me! Lol.
