This email notification has been sent to inform you that your JUNE Starbox will be shipped on Monday, June 25th.  You can expect to receive the June Starbox within 2-5 business days after it has been shipped. Normally, Starboxes will ship in the beginning of the 3rd week of each month.  However, we pushed the June subscription deadline this month to make sure everyone got a chance to receive the June box - it's going to be an awesome one!

That sounds a bit unfair. I have been receiving Starboxes for the last two months and I have been happy with the contents.  The lip glosses were great and my boyfriend never broke out when I kissed him. I have also been happy with the BB's I have been receiving but listening to you complain about makeup product you have never used and have never seen seems a bit shady to me.
But apparently it's perfectly acceptable to state that the site reminds one of pornography?

I am very excited to give this a box a try. I would have to agree the advertisement was a little crazy but I am always willing to try something new and give it a chance. So I shall be getting my box sometime this week and will come back and share what's in the box. I am very excited about this box:)!!

I think I will give it a try..

They have branched out into hair care products and possibly a facial care line too, so makeup only is probably not going to be the future of their Starboxes.

I remember both Cosmetique and also a similarly advertised monthly Beauty  Club, which may have been called Beauty of the Month Club for all I remember.. When they were good, they were great. Had brands we don't get very often in the USA like Lancaster sun products.. Then the Beauty Club went out of business, and Cosmetique changed over to generic products with French names but no French connections.

My step mom, who really was my true step mom at the time,  was buying them for me when I was 13 and starting into the beauty pageant and modeling stuff she wanted me to try.

Nothing ever hurt me in any way but I wasn't excited about faked exotic name brands after a couple of months. The worst were their " Holiday Fragrance Boxes". Phew!!

RIGHT? I remember they'd hook you at first with Bonne Belle and Sally Hansen stuff (sometimes in a custom palette), then by like the third or fourth month, it was the generic stuff.

Really? Wow, I was too young to know what they were doing LOLOL.  I remember this lady with great big eyes, her last nane was " Posner", I think her first name was " Judith"  and she was the owner of Cosmetique for a long time-- while I was very young and thought it was GREAT.. We used to get instructions in the box, and a tease for the next box.

I thought she had the most unusual and pretty eyes, and used lots of purples on her face, LOL

Laura

Wow, amazing that you saying that brought her name back. Heh.

Yeah, I guess it was late eighties that my mom first started up with them, and I remember how excited she was by some of the products (I SPECIFICALLY remember the Sally Hansen Diamond Dust--formaldehyde and all), but within six months, it was those big plastic case/palette things.

I loved Cosmetique way back when they actually had real name brands, and they were pretty exotic to a small-town teenager. Years later I joined and kept with it for about a year until they started repeating collections of the same old, same old, and by this time it was their own brands that were really the same product repackaged in different colored plastic. I was really disappointed in how badly the quality had declined, and almost infuriated that when you go to the website, they do have established branda available for individual purchase.

I agree about the fragrances--worst ever! Even the foulest celebrity perfume at Walmart is an improvement!

I love that they posted a video on there Facebook using the products in the box. 1 liquid line 1 pencil liner 1 white shadow and blending brush. Honey, if you love your box when it arrives, please take photos and tell us about the products too. Like I said, they are premiering hair care and what looks like maybe a facial care line too.

I would have definitely bought the box you are getting with what looks like all makeup, but I do NOT want their hair care or skin care products.

Got my box:

Diamondline Pencil in Myth (silver)

Small Precision Brush

Eye Shadow in Caricature

Precision Eye Definer Pen in Black

Brush and shadow are going on my trade list because I can grab 20 neutral shadows from my collection even with a blind fold on but the other 2 items are really nice!

I am going to try it for a few more months. I know they just started a hair care line and they will send those out, I hope I don't get any of those. This is one of the very few ONLY make up boxes!

I was actually contacted by this company, via YouTube, to be some type of representative for them. I thanked them but turned them down.

Thanks so much for posting what you got, Vee.  That really helps us girls who are wondering whether to take the plunge or not, I appreciate the time you took to do it for us.  Did they fix your problem of being double charged?  That's one thing I do dislike about subs, having to check and recheck that charges are correct and that sites like Beauty Army credit me with the $12 if I decide to skip the month.  On a positive note, it keeps me vigilant about keeping an eye on my checking accounts!  That's always a good habit.

I purchased at the very end of May and the charge on the 1st, so because I had paid in May for the June box, they gave me a refund for the charge on June. They actually CALLED me to tell me that there was an "issue" and that they are refunding me, which I thought was awesome because most of the times you can't even get an email back!

I like the box, I will definitely be keeping it :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

So basically 2 eyeliners, a brush and 1 eye shadow? All in the most generic neutral shades I've seen in a while. We ALL have a ton of neutrals.

What about the promo page on their site with all the colorful items? The box looks packed full. This would fit in an envelope!!!

I have an order out with them. Can we return boxes? I will be really ticked off if this is what they send me after all their splashy ( in more ways than one) ads.

IMO, every Subscription Box out there has a great first box, then it's downhill a bit, or a lot, depending. The people who got the first Starlooks Box got a great box.
