Uhhhhh.. so am I still within my low buy? Just spent $50 and picked up 5 polishes, indie, LE, foreign.... then turned around and sold 5 of my own for $25..lol. I'm only replacing what I no longer want/like/use with items inn my lemming list. Got a giftcard for my bday from a friend and spent it on a cleansing oil.. it's like a present of my ultimate choosing! I am of the mind it doesn't count lol.. Oh maaan, I'm weak!

Thanks so much guys! It's two boys and if anything they are adjusting way too well to their new home- they already think they own the place.  I'm counting on them to me my no by inspiration this month so I'll keep posting pictures every week ish if no one minds.

As for names, I've narrowed it down to Darcy and Bingley or Tyrion and Jamie.  Anyone who recognizes both references will truly know what a geek I am.
Pride and Predjudice and Game of Thrones! I love the name choices. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Yessss!!! And while I do love both sets, you can always mix and match! Those kittens are SOOOOO CUUUUTE.

Themed naming is the best! I do themed naming for every Pokemon game I play, which is fun until you start running out of city names because you realise you are not actually very good at geography... ._.;; the latest one I cheated and did "tv/movie character" names which is like EVERY SINGLE NAME ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET :'D

In other news, video games (or at least Pokemon for me because I'm too lazy to actually play other games) is a better entertainment/distraction-to--cost ratio than makeup! I only spent like $16 on the current Pokemon game I'm playing from a sale at Best Buy, but I've gotten like 30+ hrs of entertainment from it already!

Which is also bad because I'm supposed to be studying for the MCATs ooooopsss

Argh, it's only the 5th of the month and EVERY day I have struggled not to purchase something beauty-related.  I think I just have to declare a no-buy for May and not buy anything, not even a $3 Baby Lips, unless I actually run out of something.  The only thing I'm close to running out of is my powder foundation, so possibly I might need to buy one in May.  But that's IT.

For the kittens, I kinda like the idea of naming them Bingley and Darcy myself, especially if one is bouncy and fun, and the other is a tad standoffish. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />   @tulosai, I would LOVE if you shared more piccies of your kittens with us, not only are they totally adorable but it would actually help me with my no-buy!  Nothing like kittens pics to distract you from "needing" to buy makeup.   :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

OMG SPOILERS!!! LOL! :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

a little off topic, but how is the current season of Game of Thrones anyway?  Do people like it?  I've kept up with the books since they first came out, but have only seen season one of the TV show.

I dunno, but there may be a thread for GOT. It's interesting, as they're in Season 3 and a lot goes down, book wise. I'm excited to see how much gets squeezed in!

The third book is being separated into two seasons! I'm a huge fan of the show and have just started reading the books.

I managed to circumvent my no buy by using comp dollars I've accrued at a local casino for a mini haul.  They have a lovely spa and when you use comp money, everything is half off.  So, I picked up a few things I've had my eye on as well as one of those Spongeables to wash my dogs with once it's warm enough to bath them outside.:)  Importantly, no real money was spent.

I'm on book 2 of GOT and have watched through season 2.  Love it.

ok, so 20 hours after declaring my first ever no-buy for the month of May, it's actually kind of relaxing!  Before, I felt almost obligated to endlessly shop online for the best possible deals and spend hours working on optimizing my online shopping carts.  Even if I didn't need anything (which has been the case all year!) I still felt like I had to shop due to flash sales or big discounts.  Declaring a simple no-buy takes away that feeling of obligation and the exhausting need to shop, shop, shop.  As Nancy Reagan recommended, I can just say NO.

So far, no-buy = more simplicity and less decision-making, which to me is a huge relief.  Of course that's just the first day.  The next sale comes around I might be glued to my web browser like normal.  But I hope not.

Oof, two boy kittens. Been there, done that, still getting scars. Buy a big bottle of liquid bandage, name them both Loki, and write your upholstery off!

Reporting a small success! I was lemming MAC's Bare My Soul quad from the new Temperature Rising collection - mostly the greenish brown duochrome called When in Rio.

Instead of buying the whole quad I was able to mix a pretty close shade from a mineral eyeshadow sample and a pigment I already had. It's definitely not the same thing but it's close enough to satisfy the craving. So proud of myself!

Buying the quad would've been a pretty silly move considering a) how many eyeshadows I already have B) how long it takes to use up an eyeshadow, never mind four and c) how often I'd even use the shade.

Here's hoping the remaining days in May will be as smooth...

I have had some success too! I avoided going to Sephora today! I came real close but decided against it. I just mailed back my return. I didn't want to risk buying stuff and I figured it was too nice of a day to waste in Sephora. I'm just going to wait until their Summer Sun kit comes out.

Plus, I lost my debit card today so I probably won't be buying anything anytime soon :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hiiiii!

Going on my first official low buy. I really need to. The fiance & I are moving to Cape Cod. I noticed I have a lot of stuff and just really should start cutting down on it all and using it up. We also need to start saving money for our wedding.

The only thing I'm going to allow to buy myself this month is the Sephora Sun Safety Kit. With my fair skin & um hello living on Cape Cod (beautiful beaches anyone?!) I need some skin protection.
