Aw!  I bet she didn't even know she was missing a paw - animals seem to adapt really well.

Nope, she didn't. When she was a kitten, she was clumsy, but she grew out of it and would just hold up that leg and run around as fast as her sister. They were the sweetest kitties I've had. They would have been 21 this year. Both lived to be about 16 or so.

Meanwhile, I've decided that I really need to jump on board the no buy train. I got an email from Sephora that I made VIB. Except that I also made VIB in December. So I'm "paid up" until 12/2014. So, I really need to stay out of Sephora and off of their website, lol. And, there is honestly nothing I need. I probably have makeup/skincare to last me all year. I will take it a month at a time, but for now, I am committing to buying nothing else beauty related for the rest of the month.

OK, I couldn't decide if I should commit or not this month. But so far without a "formal" commitment, I haven't bought a thing. I think taking it one day at a time and not completely restricting myself works best for me. Good luck to everyone!

May and June is my self-imposed no buy month.

I've planned for this.

To soften the blow, so I'd still get me some makeup goodies, I will be receiving in the mail the Hautelook Beauty bag that i bought in April in mid May.

Also got my Ipsy coming for May and June

along with the no buy month will be skipping Beauty Army and Julep.

However, may sign up for Starlooks Starbox for the month of June their anniversary month.

To date, I've bought one item from CVS the physician formula powder, for $4, b/c i got extra care bucks to spend. So that was a planned purchase.

I have to say, the no buy has been a tad bit difficult.  Drugstore.com is having a 30% off sale! ELF kept on sending me emails of 'if you spend XX you get YY". Julep has this 50% coupon code. Glossybox has this 20% first box code.

All of which i had to say "No" to....  so hard!

oh and Hautelook just had another 50% theBalm...  i was so tempted to buy me some brushes, as brushes are technically a tool, hence not 'makeup'.  But i resisted, since I got myself some Real Technique brushes at BB&B with $5 off and 20% off coupons.

The month of May is not half way over, and my no-buy is going PAINFULLY....  hopefully the second half of May i'd do better...  sigh.. to think I also got June as no buy.

To reward myself, I've signed up for Tarte email w/ a bday in June so that I can buy me some aqualillies  come July.

In the mean time, i'm trying to pan my BB creams, so I can use my Tarte foundation that i've been saving, my blushes that i'd hit pan on but just REFUSE to be used up and mascaras.  I got 5 tubes of UNOPENED mascaras in my makeup stash on top of the currently 2 open lash primers and 8 mascaras i'm working on. >_<

And, i've got 2 eye palettes that I haven't opened: Stila In the Know and Lorac Glogetter..  I'm saving those 2 palette for when I got bored with my current BalmJovi, Lorac Unzipped & UD Mariposa palettes.

This post is therapeutic, listing out the things that I have to use up help re-affirm my May and June Nobuy!

/o I'm so tempted by the ipsy bag this month. I'm not going to because I need nothing. I have waaay too much polish (plus 1/3 of the colours from the Zoya lovely collection already), purchased my HG perfume a couple months ago, don't need most of the stuff they've shown esp since there's no guarantee you'll get it.

But I WANT ))):

Sigh. The problem with makeup. I need to channel that energy into studying instead.

My no-buy has been going very well which i'm very surprised about. Anytime I find the *urge to buy something, I just look at my huge stash. Actually found a bunch of things that i could do without...what was I thinking? more reasons to stick with my no-buy.

argh!  I was trying to stay away from Ipsy spoilers this month. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I couldn't resist Ipsy. It seems like when I resist clothes, I can't resist makeup. And vice versa. Maybe I should stop going to this forum and reading my emails ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

being busy studying for finals has kept me from shopping. there are some brushes i want to pick up from coastal scents but i hit the books before i get to actually placing an order. so far, this is going well! but -- we'll see once finals are over and i have senior week/graduation. THEN its a few weeks until i start my new big girl internship/job and move. i'm afraid that this summer while i'm getting paid well with housing covered i'm going to get bored and spend all my money. what else is a girl to do in nashville all alone?

Actually for me it's the opposite, I want to do a no buy but I am so stressed out with final papers to write that I end up shopping online on Sephora. And that need to stop for the sake of my bank account!

Me too! My study breaks consist of online shopping lol. Good thing I'm done for the semester.

I had a coupon for L'Oreal's new Healthy Look Creme Gloss hair color that was expiring on the 10th,  so I tracked my color down today at Walgreens.  Cost me the tax of 90 cents only.  However, when I was paying, the clerk gave me a $10 off $35 coupon good Friday through Sunday.  Tempting!

I had a CVS extra bucks of $3 off $15 in cosmetics.

I was all gun ho on on using that coupon, in conjunction with my $5 extra bucks so in total I'd spend $7 for $15 worth of cosmetics. My very logical boyfriend kept on harping in my ear "that is their marketing scheme! to get you to SPEND more money! just use the $5 extra bucks that has no string attached that way you do not have out lay any $$"

After him following me around CVS and harping that in my ear, I heeded his very logical and sound advice and did not attempt to buy $15 worth of cosmetics.

The moral of the story, don't let those $XX off $YY spend coupon get you!

I did some online shopping using my $25 rebate that I earned on my Bank of America Credit Card, $25 ebates rebate, another $18 in casino profit earnings plus $20~ I'm expecting to receive from Marshall's once I refund the Shisheido sunscreen I'd bought earlier. Since I didn't spend any extra money of my own, I am guessing I'm still doing fine!

I  subscribed to a second Birchbox since I'd applied for an invite before I went on a No Buy and didn't want the invitation link to expire, and bought the following on Amazon: Maya Facial Water Mist, 100% Pure Pineapple Enzyme Peel, MyChelle SPF 28 sunscreen (been trying so badly to find a sunscreen that wont break me out...I'm currently on vacation and Cotz Face SPF 40 has broken me out so BAD), Pacifica Tahitian Solid Perfume.

After I get them, I'm going to cancel my ipsy, goodies, and lbb subs. I cancelled birchbox. Hold me to this.

Your boyfriend is right!  I need someone to harp at me in these instances.

Oh man, hoping the Cotz Face SPF doesn't break me out as well!  It's one of the few SPF's I've found that doesn't make me super oily and I liked that it actually mattified my skin.  I haven't used it consistently though, as I tend to rotate with other products.

If you're rotating it with other products, you should be fine. I just have a sample size I received in makeup swap (thank goodness I didn't rush out and buy a full size after my first try...). I loved the matt effect as well. It evened out my skin tone and I didn't need a separate BB cream/foundation/setting powder on top of it. However, the product has a high content of cones to achieve the smooth effect...I am guessing it's the cones that broke me out. I haven't used it in the past two days and my skin is doing much better now! I'm scared of trying it on again. Maybe I will when I need to stay out in the sun for only a couple of hours instead of an entire day. I had wasting samples!

Late to the party...

Love the kittens!  OMG, so cute!  I vote for Darcy and Bingley, but that's just because I'm not so into GoT.

Got my tax refund, so have spent $65 this month.  I get to spend money this weekend too (major yard sale coming up, blocks and blocks long) but then I'm on a no buy for the rest of the month.  So I guess that counts as a low-buy for May.

I'm actually keeping up with my no-buy! My blog sale has been keeping me distracted and I'm very happy to get rid of all the un-loved products that I have in my makeup room. Instead of spending, I'm actually making :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />  I wonder how long this is going to last. Once I hit California... goodbye no-buy, hello low-buy.
